Fraunhofer | Design and Automation

As a Machine design engineer I was part of a team working on custom automation machines. Fraunhofer as a company accepts automation projects from a magnitude of different industries, the project I worked on was to automate the manufacturing for TeaForte, a company that sells gourmet tea in their signature triangular teabag. A completely manual process from start to finish was transitioned into automation. The parts I worked on revolved around material handling, heat forming and sealing, labelling and packaging.
